  • University of Canberra. BA Journalism majoring in public relations.

2011 – 2013

  • High standard of both written and spoken communication skills.
  • Strong news judgment. My internship position helped me to understand not only what makes a newsworthy story, but also how to write the best within the resources available.
  • Investigative skills. This sense of curiosity helped me to write a feature article on African’s living in the capital of Australia for a project, achieving a high grade.
  • I am able to work in a team and take direction. Through my studies at UC I have had to complete several group presentations.
  • Ability to work independently. During my internship I completed nearly all tasks with little to no supervision.

2012 Walkley Foundation Media Pass Student Industry Day

As part of my ongoing membership with the University of Canberra Press Club (UCPC) I have been able to attend industry trips that have provided me with invaluable insight into a wide number of issues in the media.

In 2012 I attended an overnight workshop in Sydney. During this time I heard from well-respected journalists and gained information about how to network and negotiate contracts for future employment, including sustaining a career in journalism.

UCPC Networking Events at the National Press Club

In addition to industry trips I have had the opportunity to attend networking events at the National Press Club each year through my ongoing membership with the UCPC.
